US, Israel sign declaration to prevent Iran nuclear weapons

US President Joe Biden and caretaker Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid have signed a non-binding declaration to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Biden says diplomacy is the best way to achieve this goal. The US leader’s Middle East trip is focused on improving Israel’s ties with its Arab neighbours. On Friday however, Biden will meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the occupied West Bank.
