One America News Network banned from YouTube after peddling COVID cure

One of President Trump’s favorite media outlets has been busted for spouting fake news. One America News Network, the ultraconservative cable channel that has floated conspiracy theories about how Trump lost the 2020 election, has been banned from YouTube for one week for violating the company’s coronavirus-misinformation policy. YouTube has confirmed the suspension. “Since early in the pandemic, we’ve worked to prevent the spread of harmful misinformation associated with COVID-19 on YouTube,” read a company statement. “After careful review, we removed a video from OANN and issued a strike on the channel for violating our COVID-19 misinformation policy, which prohibits content claiming there’s a guaranteed cure.” YouTube added that OANN has also been demonetized during the suspension and had been suspended from its partner program. YouTube employs a three-strikes policy before it removes an account. OANN cannot upload videos or upload new livestreams for a week, reported BBC News. To once again monetize its videos, the network must reapply to the partner program and fix the problems that caused the suspension. YouTube does not have a policy prohibiting false election claims and it previously refused to take down an OANN video falsely claiming Trump had won the 2020 election. The video was uploaded on Nov. 4 — three days before official news sources called the race for Biden, reported CBS News. YouTube has targeted other misinformation purveyors such as QAnon and Pizzagate accounts. Barack Obama’s memoir sells 1.7 million copies in first week » QAnon adherents believe Trump is battling Devil-worshiping pedophiles in media and government, while Pizzagate proponents think Democratic Party bigwigs are involved in a pedophilia ring operating out of a D.C. eatery. Although smaller in stature and viewership than Fox News, Trump has lauded OANN for its segments promoting outlandish voter-fraud and voter-machine-rigging conspiracy theories. Trump is losing Twitter followers every day after losing the election Obama to Trump: You’re drinking your own Kool-Aid NYPD sergeant charged in Nassau with shooting man he found with his wife One of the network’s rising stars is White House reporter Chanel Rion. Last week, she recorded a segment asserting that Dominion Voting Machines flipped votes in Trump’s column to president-elect Joe Biden, leading to a “fraudulent” victory. Recommended on Daily News
