Sheets of sea ice have blanketed much of China’s Liaodong Bay after days of severely cold weather. Temperatures in the area of China’s northeastern province of Liaoning dropped to minus 20 degrees Celsius (minus 4 Fahrenheit) on February 1, 2021, according to state media. The cold front has frozen more than 10,000 square kilometres (3,860 square miles) of the bay.
