The 41 Indian construction workers rescued from a collapsed tunnel in the country’s northern Uttarakhand state are recuperating in hospital after their dramatic rescue on November 28, 2023. The group emerged from the site 17 days after being trapped, when a portion of the tunnel under construction collapsed on November 12. A major rescue operation that followed was hit by repeated snags, but finally concluded with all men freed safe and sound.
