Dozens of positive Covid cases found in Beijing Olympic bubble and airport ahead of Winter Olympics

The International Olympic Committee reported 72 positive cases of Covid-19 in the lead up to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. In the period from January 4-22, 33 cases were found in the “closed loop” Olympic bubble, while 39 confirmed positive cases were found at Beijing Capital International Airport. None of the 171 athletes who arrived so far tested positive for the coronavirus, as officials say the system for now remains effective.
