Workers in Vietnam’s “incense village” have been busy preparing fragrant sticks for Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year holiday, which starts February 1, 2022. Sales have dropped so far by 30 per cent in 2022, compared to the same period last year because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The country’s ongoing measures to curb the spread of coronavirus have greatly affected businesses throughout the country, disrupting supply chains and resulting in severe losses. But as the New Year holiday approaches, the incense-making village of Quang Phu Cau, located on the outskirts of the capital Hanoi, have been gearing up for better prospects in the upcoming new year.
