‘Take the money and run’: Danish artist keeps money from museum intended for artwork

A museum in Denmark is finding out just how much an empty canvas is worth.
The frame was supposed to be filled with cash.
Danish artist Jens Haaning was given the equivalent of nearly $84,000 in Danish kroner and euro banknotes by the Kunsten Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg but decided to keep the money to himself and submitted two empty canvases — titled “Take the Money and Run”.
There is now a public and legal dispute about whether the empty frame is modern art or theft.

Al Jazeera’s Mohammed Jamjoom reports from Aalborg, Denmark.
