Military takeover: Coup leaders suspend constitution

In Niger where the military junta has suspended the constitution and dissolved all state agencies. It comes hours after the head of the presidential guard named himself leader of a transitional government, after Wednesday’s coup. World Bank, African Union suspend Sudan after coup

In Sudan’s capital Khartoum, protesters have called for a general strike and civil disobedience. State oil workers, doctors, businesses and other sectors have responded to that call.
