Sichuan earthquake survivor rescued after 17 days stranded in wild in Sichuan

A Chinese man stranded in a remote area when a major earthquake hit Sichuan province survived on wild fruit and mountain spring water for 17 before he was finally rescued by a local villager on September 22, 2022. Gan Yu went missing from his post at a hydropower station near the epicentre of the 6.8-magnitude quake that hit the region on September 5, 2022. At least 93 people have been confirmed killed and 25 are still missing after the worst earthquake to hit the southwestern province in five years.
