North Korea made its first international trip since it sealed borders at the start of Covid pandemic. A passenger flight operated by North Korea state airline Koryo landed in Beijing on August 22, 2023. The flight followed a Chinese foreign ministry announcement on August 21 that Beijing approved North Korea to resume flights between the two countries. According to Radio Free Asia, passenger trains between Sinuiju and Dandong, border cities in North Korea and China, will also resume.
