Niger is commemorating National Day which marks country’s independence from France 63 years ago.
Delegates from ECOWAS are negotiating with Niger’s military leaders about reinstating president Bazoum.
Countries including France, Germany, Italy & U.S. have evacuated their diplomatic staff and citizens.
ECOWAS has imposed sanctions on the coup leaders & threatened military intervention, but as a last resort.
