Mirror concert mishap caused by snapped cord, officials say, as fans react with shock

One of two metal cords suspending a massive screen snapped at the concert of popular Hong Kong boy band Mirror on July 28, 2022, officials have said. The screen crashed onto the stage below hitting two dancers, leaving one of them in critical condition. Hong Kong’s leader John Lee Ka-chiu vowed a swift and comprehensive investigation into the incident, which has shocked fans of the popular boy band. The group’s remaining shows at the Hong Kong Coliseum have been cancelled and organisers have promised refunds for ticket holders.
