The American fast-food giant McDonald’s announced on May 16, 2022 that it would sell its 850 restaurants in Russia and exit the market entirely. The global brand opened in Russia in 1990, but now joins a growing list of global brands to pull out of Russia since its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
