Massive sinkhole discovered in Chile near copper mining site

A 200-metre (656ft) deep sinkhole has been discovered near a copper mine in Tierra Amarilla, Chile. The sinkhole, measuring 25 metres (82ft) wide, is being blamed on a nearby copper mine operated by Canadian company Lundin Mining. Meanwhile, Chilean authorities started investigating the cause of the sinkhole on August 1, 2022.
