Police have found dozens of bodies in shallow graves in eastern Kenya where an alleged cult leader told his followers to starve themselves to death so they could “meet Jesus”. As of April 23, 2023, investigators had found 47 corpses and a search is under way for possible survivors in an 800-acre forested area near the coastal town of Malindi. The leader of the Good News International Church has been arrested.
