Japan is set to ease border restrictions, including dropping the pre-arrival Covid-19 test requirement for triple-vaccinated travellers and raising the daily arrival quota from 20,000 to 50,000. Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced on August 24, 2022, that the testing requirement will be scrapped from September 7. The decision came amid a spike in infections, putting the country at the top of the global list for daily Covid-19 cases.
