The Israeli military has admitted killing a US-Turkish activist in the occupied West Bank.
26-year-old Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was shot in the head close to the town of Beita on Friday.
She was participating in a protest against the expansion of illegal Israeli settlements.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says her killing was unprovoked and unjustified and that
the Israeli army needs to make fundamental changes in its rules of engagement.
Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim has the latest developments in Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank and Jonah Hull is in London for more.
Menachem Klein is a professor of political science at Bar-Milan University.
He says the manner of Ezgi’s killing indicates disorder within Israeli military ranks.
