Three years since Taiwan became the first place in Asia to legalise same-sex unions, some members in the island’s gay community are still unable to wed their partners. Activists say the rule discriminates against gay couples involving foreign partners, keeping them apart especially during the coronavirus pandemic, which has seen many unable to enter Taiwan as dependents or spouses.
