Celebrations have been held across China to usher in the Year of the Tiger. On the eve of the Spring Festival marking the start of the Chinese zodiac year on January 31, 2022, cultural activities and traditional dances were held in provinces across the country, along with government-organised parades and light shows. Even astronauts in China’s Tiangong space station took time out from their duties to mark the Lunar New Year in orbit.
