US President Joe Biden’s visit comes just hours after the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip was bombed, believed to have killed at least 500 people.
Palestinian authorities are blaming an Israeli air strike, however, the Israeli army said its intelligence shows the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group is responsible, an allegation denied by the group.
Jordan cancelled a summit with the presidents of the US and Egypt after the deadly strike. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas earlier withdrew from the meeting.
Biden tells Netanyahu the al-Ahli Arab Hospital bombing appears to have been committed by the “other team, not you”; implying Palestinian armed factions were behind it.
Biden did not provide any evidence to back up his assessment.
