Yevgeny Prigozhin, a former criminal and restaurateur, was behind the biggest threat to Vladimir Putin’s hold on power since he became Russian President. Prigozhin and his Wagner Group private militia now face an uncertain future after ending their 36-hour rebellion against Russia’s defence ministry and going into exile in neighbouring Belarus.
