A suicide bomb blast killed at least 19 people and injured 27 in an education centre in west Kabul on September 30, 2022. The mostly female students were preparing for exams when the attack took place. The Kaaj Higher Educational Centre is located in the Dasht-e-Barchi area, where the Hazara ethnic minority community predominantly lives. The group has been targeted in previous attacks.
