Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon in a recent interview said South Korea should develop its own nuclear arsenal to defend against the threats from the North. South Korea has signed the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT), but opinion polls suggest most of the country’s citizens are in favour of ignoring its commitment not to develop nuclear weapons
