Russian President Vladimir Putin has admitted to mistakes in the country’s military mobilisation plan, the country’s first since World War II. There have been cases of the elderly, the sick or those without military experience being conscripted, according to Russian media. Meanwhile, thousands of men have fled Russia over the border to Georgia and Kazakhstan since Putin announced the move in September 2022.
