New York City launched its first public health vending machine on June 5, 2023. It provides health and wellness supplies such as fentanyl and xylazine test strips, hygiene kits and naloxone kits, which are used to reverse opioid overdoses. The machine, with three more to be launched later in 2024, is the city’s latest attempt to deal with its opioid crisis.
