A new highway in China featuring the longest spiral tunnel opened to traffic in Henan province on December 26, 2022. It connects Xinxiang city in Henan and Jincheng city in neighbouring Shanxi province, which are separated by the Taihang Mountains. The group of tunnels along the Xinxiang-Jincheng Expressway have shortened travel time between the two cities by 2 hours.
