The launch of Nasa’s much-anticipated moon mission Artemis 1 was called off 40 minutes before lift-off on August 29, 2022, after a technical snag described as a temperature issue with one of the spacecraft’s four engines. The uncrewed mission is now expected to be rescheduled to September 2 at the earliest, in what the US space agency hopes will pave the way for crewed missions to the moon and ultimately Mars.
