In an emotional live-stream video on June 14, 2022, K-pop sensation BTS announced that members will go on an indefinite break to each pursue solo projects. Sharing their struggles with exhaustion and the pressures of success, the Grammy-nominated boy band said time away would be beneficial for the group’s future. The news drove the share price of BTS’ label down 27 per cent on early June 15, 2022. But the company quickly clarified that the seven members will continue developing both team and individual projects.
