A search team has retrieved the remains of renowned US ski mountaineer Hilaree Nelson, who went missing on Nepal’s Mount Manaslu after reportedly slipping into a crevasse while skiing down the world’s eighth-tallest peak. The accident happened on September 26, 2022, amid heavy snowfall that triggered an avalanche in the peak’s lower reaches, killing one person and injuring 14.
