Mount Aso, a volcano in Japan’s southern island of Kyushu, erupted on October 20, 2021, sending ash and debris several miles into the air. Tomoaki Ozaki, director of the volcanic observation division of the Japan Meteorological Agency, warned that the volcano could erupt again and urged people to keep their distance.
