Eric Wen was one of hundreds of hikers trapped in a sudden snowstorm on Mount Everest on October 4, 2025. He was among the first batch to be saved by authorities, as 200 people await rescue as of October 7, 2025. Wen recalls the extreme difficulty of the journey back and how unprepared his group was for extreme weather.
