Myanmar’s second-largest body of water, Inle Lake, is a Unesco biosphere reserve that was once a tourist attraction renowned for its stilt houses and fishermen who use their legs to row their boats. But now, floating farms have become ubiquitous and a major source of income for people living in the area. However, fishermen are warning that the farms are gradually choking the life out of Inle Lake as they cover more surface area and put harmful chemicals into its waters.
