Activities that were once banned under the Taliban, such as playing music, having fancy haircuts and wearing make-up, have made a comeback since the end of Taliban rule in 2001. But with the insurgent group making major advances in the country ahead of the US troop pull-out by September 11, 2021, Afghan residents fear innocuous activities and pastimes will once again be outlawed.
