Soldiers loyal to Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed have exchanged gunfire in Mogadishu with rival groups, which want him to step down.
Parliament recently voted to extend Farmaajo’s term – as the president is commonly known – and talks to organise a new election have stalled.
In April, Mohamed signed a law extending his term by another two years.
