The Seoul Central District Court on February 3, 2023, sentenced South Korea’s former justice minister, Cho Kuk, to two years in prison for forging documents to help his children gain university admission and interfering in a corruption investigation involving an associate of ex-president Moon Jae-in. The former star law professor was a key aide to Moon, briefly serving as justice minister before resigning over a corruption scandal and being indicted on a dozen charges in late 2019.
