The death toll from the Christmas Day rains in the southern Philippines rose to 13, with the search for 23 missing continuing as floodwaters start to recede, according to local authorities on December 27, 2022. Affected areas include Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan. More than 45,000 people have been forced to take shelter in evacuation centres.
