A fruit stall in Thailand sells durians for an astonishing US$345 per kilogram. Customers even have to pre-order the infamous but popular delicacy a year in advance before they can collect it from the market in the capital Bangkok. The cost is staggeringly more expensive than the average retail price of around US$4.30 per kilogram.
