US Vietnam War veteran joins ranks of soldiers in Kyiv to fight against the Russians

73-year-old American Vietnam War veteran Steven Straub arrived in Kyiv as a volunteer for the National Guard of Ukraine in March, 2022. In 1968, Straub served 14 months in Vietnam as a sergeant in the mechanised infantry, seeing action during the Tet Offensive. On a recent day off from his duties, Straub toured several villages outside Kyiv which were recently recaptured from Russian troops.
