A Chinese lab said it has achieved a breakthrough in 6G mobile technology. The government-backed Purple Mountain Laboratories said in a statement on January 5, 2022, that a research team had achieved a wireless transmission speed of 206.25 gigabits per second, a world-record for real-time wireless transmission. The development means that 6G technology could achieve peak speeds up to 100 times faster than 5G technology.
